From its unforgettable history to its modern culture, explore some of South Africa’s highlights from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
Arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Upon your arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Feel free to rest, freshen up, and begin to explore. Join us in the evening for dinner and a Senya Tours meet & greet.
Begin to explore one of South Africa’s three capital cities, Johannesburg, or Jo’burg or Jozi.We will explore Maboneng neighborhood, a creative center of Johannesburg via a walking tour. On the tour, you will have the opportunity to pick up beautiful African fabric to have a bespoke piece made just for you.
After breakfast, we will head to Soweto Township, starting our tour at the iconic Vilakazi Street, the only street in the world that has been home to two Nobel Prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. We will explore the area and learn about its historical significance. We will visit the Nelson Mandela House Museum and nearby memorials to learn about the significance of the area historical and contemporary South Africa. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit the iconic Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, where you can see the Nelson Mandela statue and do some shopping.
Today, we will embark on a day trip to the nearby Pilanesberg National Park for a thrilling safari experience. We will take a game drive to spot the Big Five (lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, and leopards) along with other fascinating flora and fauna. We will enjoy lunch in the park surrounded by nature. In the evening, we will return to the city for a relaxing evening.
It’s time to say “goodbye” to Johannesburg and “hello” to another South African city, Cape Town. This morning we will fly from Johannesburg to Cape Town. Upon arrival, we we be transported to our hotel. Feel free to take some time to relax or take a stroll around the V&A waterfront, exploring the shops, restaurants, and lively atmosphere.
Let's take a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. We'll enjoy stunning views of Cape Town and take a leisurely walk around the mountain. In the afternoon, take a city tour and visit landmarks such as the Castle of Good Hope and Bo-Kaap neighborhood. In the evening, we will have the opportunity to explore the trendy Kloof Street and enjoy dinner at one of the vibrant restaurants.
Today, we will travel east of Cape Town to South Africa's famed winelands. We will spend the day visiting several renowned wine estates and sampling a variety of South African wines. We will have the opportunity to enjoy wine tastings, cellar tours, and scenic vineyards. We will also indulge in a delicious lunch paired with wine at one of the estates and take a walk through the charming town. In the evening, we will return to Cape Town and have a relaxing evening.
This morning we will take a morning ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.Explore the island and learn about its history from former political prisoners. In the afternoon, we will return to Cape Town to enjoy free time and visiting local sites.
This will be our last morning together. We will meet for a group breakfast before being transferred to the airport.
